100 Entertainment's of Kauaʻi

100 Entertainment's of Kauaʻi

Kaua'i has been literary fodder for generations, inspiring writers from all over the world with its unique history and riveting sights. But it is the newly released 100 Entertainments of Kaua'i, a full-color, 210-page masterpiece that visually captures the island's staggering style and integrity.

This book is a collection of 100 illustrations by the artist Tambi Larsen, highlighting places all over the Garden Isle from busy Ke'e Beach to beloved Polihale.

The 109-year-old Kaua'i Historical Society is publisher of the book, and each illustration is accompanied with a brief history or anecdote written by five local historians of the Society. Tambi Larsen passed away in 2001, and in 2003, his wife Barbara bestowed the Historical Society with the rights to publish these illustrations. This book is 20 years in the making, beautifully captivating, and completely worth the wait.

TAMBI LARSEN was an Oscar- winning Hollywood set designer who applied his eye for architecture to his keen observations of life and nature. He had a deep love for Kaua'i and it's people. In this book, Larsen uses Prismacolor Pencils to perfectly achieve the purity of color, granular detail and wider cosmic perspectives on Kaua'i lifestyle, nature, and place.
